My 10th graders at Waukegan High School are a vibrant mix of resilient, creative thinkers from predominantly Hispanic and African American families. Many face economic challenges, and some are English learners or have IEPs, yet all bring unique perspectives and a genuine hunger to connect with history. They excel when lessons are interactive—using stories, multimedia, and hands-on activities—and are eager to build critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills. Your support will provide essential resources and inspiring experiences that empower them to see themselves as historians, storytellers, and future leaders.
