The use of an easel during small group instruction will allow students to participate in leveled reading and math small group instruction. (RL, RI, and RF) I will also be able to model correct handwriting using the lined magnetic overlay. (L1.2, L1.4-6) The math and reading games will be used in small groups. These activities will also be used as center activities after the initial skills are taught. Students will use these to help develop mastery in both reading and math. (1.OA.A-D) Students will also be able to use the STEM materials to deepen their science, technology, engineering and math skills. ( 1ED 1-3) The emergent reader books will be used both in classroom and students will take them home to practice reading with their families. (RF 1.4)
