My students are from the largest and one of the poorest counties in North Carolina. 100% of the students at my school receive free lunch and breakfast. Most of the students look forward to coming to school to have a warm meal, a welcoming classroom, and a caring teacher. I work hard to make my students feel welcome and to let them know that they are important and that they matter. Through these relationships students often flourish and grow.
