In our Pre-K special abilities classroom, our kids are wonderfully unique, some are learning to walk, others are nonverbal and finding their voices through sign language or pictures. We have children with Autism, Down syndrome, and Developmental delays, but first and always, they’re just kids. They want to play, be silly, feel safe, and be loved. We sing, dance, explore, and work through big feelings together. Communication looks different for each child, and every small step is a huge win. Our classroom is a place where progress is measured in smiles, new words, first steps, and shared laughter. It’s a space full of heart, where each child belongs, grows, and is celebrated, not for what they can’t do, but for all they are. Here, we meet kids where they are and walk beside them, every step of the way.
