My students are from a small suburban school. There is a pretty wide range of socioeconomic background. The specific students I teach are very motivated young men and women who are sometimes limited by the lack of resources and opportunities the school can provide. These students would really benefit from seeing additional ways to look at science outside of a typical structured curriculum of facts and problems. The majority of my students will work hard and typically go on to attend a 4 year university. These schools range from local community colleges, state schools, and in some cases ,when the families can afford it, to more expensive universities. Our school is located in Vermont which allows for some exposure to the larger world, however in general we are a pretty small, homogeneous group.
