Students in my school are diverse, creative and craving a positive school community. The school represents students from grades 6-8 and is a public school located within Northern California. There are roughly 950 students who attend our school. My classroom represents the racial and socio-economic profile of my school: 40% African-American, 25% White, 15% Latino, 15% Asian and 5% Multiple. According to school data, 33% of students at the school receive Free or Reduced Lunch. My students and their families care about learning and believe that they deserve a high-quality education.
Students in my classroom value learning as a community. They enjoy hands-on activities as much as small group and whole class discussions. We have built a strong learning environment at my school and my students understand that they can learn not only from their teacher but also from each other.
