All 400 students in our small elementary school study science with me once a week using a great hands-on curriculum and supplemental materials to help us transition to being fully aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Throughout their careers as elementary science students, they learn to think, act, and communicate like scientists and engineers. They enjoy observing and modeling phenomena, designing experiments, using notebooks to communicate understanding, and designing solutions with a variety of materials. It is FUN to be able to facilitate their learning in this setting!
We are a passionate, hard-working staff in a rich, culturally diverse community with needs that our budget can't meet. Each school year, I strive to provide the highest-quality learning experience for our kids. They are creative, caring, inquisitive, and bright! I look forward to seeing them thrive in the sciences and beyond.
