Computer Science SOLs have come to Virginia for all grades! With help from CodeVA, I integrate the core curriculum with Computer Science. Scratch Jr. is an app that is perfect for my little ones! It teaches them to code using algorithms and patterns on their first grade level, while enhancing their learning of the first grade curriculum. In addition to Scratch Jr, my students use websites such as Raz-Kids, IXL Math, Lulilo, Class Dojo, and so many more. Ipads make it is easier for little hands to be able to use a touch screen to navigate through sites and apps. Scratch Jr and other apps needed are only available on Apple products. Since our school only uses chromebooks and a few ipads per class, I am hoping to eventually have enough ipads for my entire class. Until then, I am hoping to use the ipads with pairs of students.
