My students come from all walks of life. Some are future engineers, while others aren鈥檛 sure college is for them--but they鈥檙e curious, capable, and hungry to build something real. Whether they鈥檙e planning to pursue mechanical engineering or pick up a trade, they all benefit from hands-on experience and access to tools that build both confidence and skill.
We鈥檙e a Title I school, with nearly 80% of students coming from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. Many of them haven鈥檛 had access to tools, tech, or makerspaces outside of school. That鈥檚 what makes this program so important. For some, it鈥檚 their first time using a 3D printer or CNC machine. For others, it鈥檚 the moment where everything clicks and they realize, 鈥淚 could do this for a living.鈥
Every student I teach deserves a chance to make, learn, and grow in a space that believes in them. This project helps make that possible.
