I teach Science as a first year teacher to amazing and active fifth and sixth grade students on the southwest side of Chicago. Our home here at Hurley are mostly Hispanic. Our community makes an attempt to unite and bring cultures together so everyone feels welcome. I teach at a majority low-income public elementary school, where 98% of our students are students of color. Many are English learners, newcomers, or students receiving special education services.

About my class
