I teach in an urban elementary school and have thirty first grade students who absolutely love learning while using technology. My school is moving toward blended and personalized learning. The goal is for students to have technology to support lessons to make them more engaging, create group projects, publish books, and do research.
My students have access to all technology in the classroom by rotating daily. With the students constantly being engaged in lessons and working on assignments through technology, I noticed that something was changing. My students are not at their desks as much. They truly enjoyed learning everywhere else other than their desk. If you looked around you would see a student sitting against the wall reading a book, a student laying down on their stomach completing a math assessment on the iPad, or a group of students sitting in a circle on the floor using geoboards. They just want to be comfortable while learning.
