Our goal, in 6th grade, is to have students finishing about one book every week. Our class has a classroom library that has helped us through the years, but books have been so loved by my students that they have mysteriously disappeared, where others have been read so much that they are falling apart. This project is designed to provide a variety of new, high-interest nonfiction books for all my students at every level. We will delve into both characterization and theme through these nonfiction texts. My students will learn invaluable life lessons, as they read about real people and events from our world.
