My students are all-male and all-black, coming from a high-need area in Illinois. They often come from a low socioeconomic status and, more importantly, a failing school district with a startlingly low graduation rate (particularly among this population). While the city's college acceptance rate remains low, 100% of our students have been accepted into college through the hard work and persistence of our students. In order to fully enter an academically rigorous world, however, our students need to be more immersed in the new technologies that will help them understand more challenging concepts in STEM fields.
