My classroom services all of our city's 2nd and 3rd grade students that have been identified for our elementary gifted program. They come ready to go deeper into subject areas. At the gifted center, we develop our own curriculum which centers around a science theme for one of our two semesters. The students love investigating and a microscope would assist in this aspect of their learning.
