The students I work with come from very difficult situations. I have had students who do not have beds, electricity, and sometimes even food. We do everything we can for them while they are at school. A lot of times us teachers spend our own money to get them what they need. School is a safe haven for many of them, providing them with breakfast and lunch, clothes if they need them, and a safe environment. My school has a very caring staff who wants to be able to provide everything for every classroom and every student, but due to lack of funding in every way, we can not provide for every need.
