There are 28 students in my 5th grade classroom. In our school we have four 5th grade classes. The other three classes have their own class sets of calculators. I am the new teacher on the team and inherited the room without calculators. We are a public school, with a total number of 720 students enrolled. This project would be beneficial to many students in our building. We have started a program we call "Dragon Training". Twice a month the students in our building go to another classroom, with a different teacher and different classmates to be assisted with a math concept they may be having problems with or that they need enrichment activities. Each month these calculators will be used by the students in my room and the students who come to my room for "Dragon Training." These calculators will be used year after year.
