I am a public high school math teacher, serving students in an urban school district. Many students are scared of math. So I am committed to not being a scary teacher. I try to infuse my classroom with art, colors (even origami!) to help students see the beauty in math. Many of these students lack the supplies that they need to help them to "see" the math. This is where I need the most help. I am always on the hunt to find tools and objects to help students to visualize the math.
