My name is Mrs. Jimenez. I LOVE reading and learning and so do my students. They are a group of beautiful 9 through 11-year olds who will make up the very first 4th grade class in our new school.
Fresh new titles and favorite classics will encourage and inspire a new generation of lifelong knowledge seekers in my fourth-grade class! Children this age want variety and currently there isn鈥檛 a classroom library at all for the students to use. As a 10-year veteran of 4th grade students, I have seen how a classroom library with something for everyone, can be used to hook even the most reluctant reader! With the gift of a classroom library our students will be able to borrow books to use in the classroom as well as at home. The books will be organized by reading level, divided into fiction and nonfiction and categorized by subject, especially high interest areas! They will learn to check out books and take on the responsibility of maintaining the collection so each child can benefit and enjoy them throughout the year. Like the other dedicated educators in our building, my goal is to foster an intrinsically driven curiosity to 鈥渒now more鈥 in my students too.
In order to help make their school year one that is full of excitement, exploration, and motivation to meet their personal goals and achieve success for our diverse student population, nothing less will do but a library that provides the kind of support and inspiration they need. Thank you so much for loving our students as much as we do!
