Most of my students are at-risk and come from low socio-economic homes with little support from their parents. These students will most likely be the first in their families to finish high school and attend college. They are a very bright bunch of individuals who have taken to the subject of art. Art has open up their minds to different things. Some students have told me that my art class has helped them feel relaxed from dealing with tensions at home. Other students have told me that when they are creating art, they feel as if they are in another world without any worries. I have seen how art as given them a whole new confidence in life.
