My students are first graders in Minnesota. They attend a public school that is a neighborhood school. The majority of my class is Somali and simply walk across the street from their apartment complex to get to school. All but two of my twenty six students receive free lunch from the district. My students are eager to learn and absolutely love using white boards, markers, and erasers to write numbers, words, sentences and draw pictures.
