The students in my classroom have an emotional disability that makes it challenging to attend school and be successful due to the trauma they have experienced in their lives. When given the proper support, students in my class have increased their ability to attend school, complete and turn in assignments, and earn credits towards graduation. We are seeing more of the students applying for college than ever before. The classroom consists of 12-20 students at a time. They attend general education classes with support from myself and my staff of paraprofessionals. While it is a challenging position, seeing the students becoming more and more successful and confident has been a huge reward for me and my staff.
About my class
