In our Fifth Grade class, we are always challenging ourselves and others to do their very best both academically and socially. We believe to learn, you have to willing to make mistakes, try new things, and use any support available.
Our school has the mission to prepare each student for their future. Many of my students come from low income families or are homeless. A large majority of our district is free/reduced lunch and come from the surrounding inner city schools. About 35-40% of our students are learning disabled or at-risk of falling behind academic achievement.
My students strive to do their best and can use all the support they can get. I want each student to leave my classroom feeling that they can be successful in school and life and to be driven to always learn more. For my students to know they have people supporting their education every day will do wonders for their self-esteem and perseverance.
