My very full class of 28 children is very multi-ethnic. It's an open concept, urban school in Washington State, with about 60% of students on free and reduced lunch program. Eleven of my children speak two languages; two are beginning learners of English. They are an enthusiastic, energetic bunch! Academically there is a wide spread, with several already reading emergent stories, many others knowing about half the letters of the alphabet, and five not able to identify any letters yet.
