As our school Library Media Specialist it is my job to help students develop a love of learning and researching through collaboration, student discourse, engineering, reading and mastering language skills. There are several standards that the students will be able to master using these materials in groups of their peers.
Students must be able to master language skills and be able to articulate their thoughts in order to master these standards. Several of the standards students will master are:
2.C.1 Interact with learners who reflect a range of perspectives. 2.G.1 Seek interactions with a range of learners.
2.S.2 Contribute to discussions in which multiple viewpoints on a topic are expressed.
3.T.2 Develop new understandings through engagement in a learning group.
3.T.3 Decide to solve problems informed by group interaction.
3.G.2 Recognize learning as a social responsibility.
5.C.1 Problem solve through cycles of design, implementation, and reflection.
5.T.1 Read widely and deeply in multiple formats and write and create for a variety of purposes.
Students will be better prepared for future learning opportunities and for the world ahead of them as they think, create, share and grow using the many activities for this project!
