PS 48 is a community school serving children who require general education as well as special education and related services, including speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. My students are both girls and boys who have difficulties or limitations of some sort that negatively affect the way they learn or behave in the classroom. It can be something as mild as low strength which affects their grip on a pencil or scissor or something more severe such as SPD (sensory processing disorder) which affects their ability to receive and learn new information being taught by the classroom teacher.
