My students are sixth and seventh graders who are in the midst of becoming independent thinkers and independent workers. They attend school in an urban area and they are constantly being challenged to achieve. At this time in their lives, they must decide that learning is personal. Living in an urban environment means that their learning experience must be one they choose to embark upon.
