My school is predominantly Hispanic, located in a very low income community where most students receive free breakfast and free lunch. We are a community school, so there is a strong sense of pride and commitment between the community and staff to help students become successful academically, emotionally and socially. Even though it becomes upsetting at times because our students cannot afford the proper materials they need to be successful in class, it doesn't take away their positive spirit and energy.
