My school is in a transitional neighborhood. Our students come from Mexico, South America, Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe. Our school has a high rate of poverty and a large population of students who speak English as a second language. My students are in 5th grade. I teach them language arts, math, social studies, research, writing and science in a self-contained classroom.
