STEAM is a way to engage students in the studies of Science, Technology Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics to become active in their own education. STEAM will allow students to use critical thinking, guiding inquiry, dialogue, to develop problem solvers, who collaborate well with others. Using STEAM in the classroom students own their learning in the classroom. STEAM also helps to develop students skills as leaders, innovators, and 21 Century Learners. Every Students needs the chance to become engaged 21 Century Learner. Material requested are STEM kits to create STEM experiments, the kits include Build a Roller Coaster, Explorations Swing Ride, Building a Bridge, and also a kit with fourth and fifth grade STEM activities. Along with the kits I will be ordering gears, and LEGO pieces to be used in many STEM activities and experiments. The materials acquired would be used to create a mobile STEAM lab. This will allow teachers in the school to bring the activities to their classrooms, and be used in the computer lab by students when they are with me during their computer time. Having these STEAM kits and materials will engage students and help them in their futures by allowing them the challenge themselves, and work with others during a project.
