Within my school, by having these resources I will be able to provide students with stories that focus on improving their social-emotional development that fosters positive social interaction, healing for grief and loss, understand kindness and having empathy for others.
In order for students to develop socially and emotionally , I will use these stories to teach skills that addresses their social-emotional concerns on a school-wide level, in which students will be able to improve their social interaction with their peers, be able to manage their emotions, understand what it means to be kind to others and treat people with respect. Student will learn about friendship and the important characteristics and/or qualities in a friend. The overall goal for developing social-emotional skills is for students to know as well as understand that social-emotional skills are necessary in order for one to be productive in society, because when they get older they will be dealing with people every day and they need to know how to treat the people they meet.
