My students who come from a high poverty living environment often need that extra push to academic success. I believe that can be done through differentiated learning environments such as literacy (non-fiction, biographies) and music and movement. These items will really give students a look at what current news is happening in our world as well as music and stories of famous people from the past. It's the perfect bridge of learning that my students need.
