My 6th-grade students will gain growth mindset lessons by learning to play an instrument, read music, and basic music lessons. As they learn they will create team-building relationships by receiving and giving help to their peers through the struggles of learning a new concept.
As they move forward in life, they will gain the background knowledge of music and hopefully inspire them to dream of being in a band, orchestra, or creating music to share with the world.
These ukuleles are inspirational because most of our students would not have the opportunity to learn them without the chance at our school. I'm excited to see how these instruments will connect us to the families and the homes of our students too.
