My students have a deep desire creative education. In a school in which 80% of the student population is on free or reduced lunch, my students see school as their opportunity to break the cycle of poverty. They are full of creative energy, unique perspectives, and quirky personalities. Orchestra provides these students with a place to belong and a group of individuals to call a team. Some orchestra students come from backgrounds of Mariachi training, others come from classical training, and some come to the club completely untrained. They are truly a hodgepodge of students gathered for the same goal of excellence.
