My students are amazing and desperately want to learn. They are significantly below grade level in reading and math. Hands on activities are a huge part of my math instruction as we work to close the gap. They get so excited when I bring out activities in vibrant colors. Some of my students cannot access literature due to specific learning disabilities and I can find on line books at their levels that are decodable and high interest for them to read. Having them in color is amazing! I have some students who are 2+ years behind and have different programs to learn to read. There are not many books out their that are interesting at their low level, so I write them for my students, using words they know. The response to these books has been amazing and having then in color makes them feel more like a real author wrote them. (They do think I am an author!)
