My students are ninth grade inner city youth with dreams to visit countries all across the world. They come primarily from Latin American countries or parts of Asia. The income level and language ability is varied, and I teach students of all abilities. Our school is committed to inquiry learning through real world models, visuals, video and text to support higher learning. Students spend time learning topics in depth, writing extensive essays or other types of writing, and learn test taking skills needed to graduate. They are committed to their communities and volunteer time with the local elementary school. They love school and spend hours in the after school program in homework help, dance club, photography and knitting.
