What better way to involve students in learning math than engaging them in playing math centers and games? All of my students are in walking distance of the school. I have 23% of my students who are at or below benchmark and 77% who are above benchmark.
With these manipulatives, a student who tested proficient on the math topic benefits because he/she is able to expand upon their knowledge. Also a student who is not proficient needs reteaching and hands-on materials are great to use when reteaching a topic. In addition, I would use the manipulatives to engage my advanced students. One set of materials can be used for both my struggling and advanced students.
