While I currently have 2 Chromebooks to use with my 8 inclusion students for online reading and math intervention programs, and research/writing projects, my goal is to have 8. When my project is funded I will have 4 Chromebooks. I believe that all of my students should have adequate time to complete online intervention programs and writing assignments, without feeling pressured to complete them because another student is waiting to use a Chromebook.
My students enjoy completing/practicing concepts that they need more support with or have learned via their online reading/math intervention programs. They enjoy reading books online and completing book reports. They also enjoy printing out art work, writing assignments/reports, etc. Providing a classroom printer would prevent students from going to another teacher's room for their printed work or waiting on office copies that may not be available in a timely fashion (or printed appropriately), yet it would enable my students to print their work in real time. Seeing their prints in real time will help increase their enthusiasm and drive to work harder. My students are eager, and very enthusiastic about learning.
