The student's in my classroom are currently able to access internet independently, one time a week in the computer lab. Having a set of Kindles in the classroom will allow them to access lesson enhancements throughout all the subjects that are taught daily. If we receive 10 Kindles, we will have 2:1 ratio in the class. Math is a daily struggle and they need consistent practice with word problems and fact fluency along with the other objectives that are being taught throughout the year. I am planning to use the Kindles to access practice apps to ensure that my student's get extra help working on these objectives. I have a wide range of readers in class and by using Kindles, we will be able to access more on-level books to meet the individual needs of each student. Many texts online have differentiated levels that we are unable to use without making many paper copies, because we only have one computer in the classroom. I feel that using Kindles in the classroom will better prepare my students for a successful future. The possibilities are endless!
