My students live in southern California. They are bright and inquisitive, although like most students today, they do not like to read unless they feel the material is immediately relevant to them. My school is unique-a K-12 campus, with about 50 children in each grade. My 8th grade students are a mixture of Armenians, Latinos, whites, African-Americans, and Asians.
