Mr. J's alternative music program provides exciting, alternative, hands-on music classes for middle school students who cannot afford and/or are not interested in traditional music classes. The program strives to motivate a wide range of students including many who are at-risk to build confidence, attend school and improve their grades. The program is a true model of inclusion and integration and encourages students from every socio-economic, academic and cultural background to join. Learning disabled students, visually impaired students, physically handicapped students, gifted students, twice exceptional students, emotionally/behaviorally disabled students, at-risk students, along with numerous regular education students all rehearse and perform side-by-side each and every day in school. The students attend a Title One school.
