My school is located in Southern Louisiana. Our district is considered a High Poverty area. About 90% of students at our school qualify for free and reduced lunch, and most of the population is minority groups. Our school houses over 400 students from Pre-K through First grade. It is at our school that these children get their first experiences at learning and socializing with others. The teachers and children love our school, but we lack many of the items that children from higher economic areas take for granted. We make do and improvise with the materials we have. Getting our project funded would be wonderful. The children would love new materials.
