My students are hardworking and amazing little people who come to school every day ready to learn despite whatever obstacles they are facing at home. They are attending a dual language program in a Title I school. All students receive free lunch and have limited resources outside of school. Fifty percent of them are learning English. We spend a large part of our day on the rug- listening to and discussing stories, sharing our writing, and developing oral language skills. Not having an appropriate space to sit can be distracting and uncomfortable for students.
