I have different grade levels I work with in the Library. They range from K-4th grade. Students get the opportunity to have read alouds, engage in the Maker Space, use the computers for educational games and research and just sit relax and enjoy a book.
A big component that I have tried incorporating in the Library is Coding. Teaching students about how computers use algorithms to function and we humans create those algorithms. Coding is far beyond gaming. It is where students engage in meaningful learning experiences that tap into collaboration, communication, persistence, problem solving and creativity.
The supplies that I am asking for meet the demands of the program I wish to run with my classes. Coding and Beyond! will allow students to apply coding concepts into other subjects such as Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies.
