My students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. They are all great students and always eager to learn something new. Our school is an inner city school with over 50% of low income families, some come from military families that are stationed here in Corpus Christi. I come from a military family and I know that sometimes it is hard financially. It breaks my heart when my students tell me they don't have a pencil or paper to do their work. Every year I spend money out of pocket to ensure that I have plenty of pencils and paper for my students. I want them to know that they are here to learn and that I will help them in any way I can to ensure that they have the needed supplies to accomplish this goal.
