99% Hispanic is the demographics of my school. 90% qualify for free or reduced lunch. I noticed that my students do not have much exposure to city-wide events, or public places such as world music concerts, museums, the beach, etc. Because of this, most of my pupils cannot make the connection between school lessons and their daily life. I need to be able to illustrate the concepts of science in a meaningful and shocking way. what better way than playing with science toys and contraptions?
