My students are energetic, curious, middle-school historians. We are learning to ask higher-level questions and analyze history through hands-on strategies like drawing, creating websites, and making short films. My students live in South Central Los Angeles and are almost all English Language Learners.
All of my students have disabilities which affect how they learn, socialize, and communicate. It is difficult financially for my students' families to buy them school supplies. 100% of my students are on the free lunch program. My students are talented artists and historians, and I want to help them shine. Art and technology help my students overcome their disabilities and to show and develop their abilities!
