We will practice phonics activities in small groups with our new materials,(whiteboards, magnetic letters, counters, markers, and erasers), which will be exciting for the students to use. They will use the materials in a variety of modalities that will support learning. Students will listen to my instruction, touch individual tiles as they say individual sounds, build and read words, and share their thinking with others in the small group. These activities help build students' reading skills and social-emotional skills as they experience success in phonics activities. If we transition into Distance Learning from home, students will have the opportunity to check out individual bags of materials to continue small group work with me, their teacher, during daily Zoom Meetings. This consistent instruction will continue their social-emotional and academic learning.
