Hooray for TK !! My four to five year old students are coming to school for the first time with so much excitement. They are the youngest kindergarteners that are a part of a new transitional kindergarten program in Los Angeles. Our elementary school is in a low social economic area, where all my students receive Title 1 support and all participate in the free lunch program. Many have been raised by Spanish speaking grandparents due to both parents or parent needing to work in these difficult economic times.
