I teach at a very diverse school in Southern California. Students come from a wide array of cultural, ethnic and economic backgrounds. My students are active learners! They enjoy moving, creating and learning. Some of their favorite activities are math, computers, gardening, yoga, art and music. I have many visual learners that benefit from seeing rather than just hearing the teacher talk. They love the integration of technology into learning. (SHHHH Don't tell them they are learning when we are using computers!)
