Tablet use also provides additional outlets for augmentative communication systems, music, and entertainment. Handwriting, basic reading skills, and math practice are easily accessed on a tablet. Kindle Fires are an affordable alternative to a more expensive iPad and provide the same academic features for a school setting. Kindle Fires are motivating, engaging, and easy to use. Apps are available for academic, social, and life skill repeated practice. Students will access these Kindles during independent academic practice and have access to a tablet for voice output communication. Students will be able to enjoy books read aloud as well as educational videos on tablets.
